Job Title: Quality Control Manager - Great Lakes (Site Safety, Quality & Construction Manager)
Job Description
The Site Safety, Quality & Construction Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role overseeing construction operations, safety compliance, and quality control on a federal healthcare roofing project in North Chicago, IL. This position serves simultaneously as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), Competent Person, and Superintendent/Construction Quality Control (CQC) Manager, ensuring strict adherence to OSHA 29 CFR 1926, USACE EM 385‑1‑1, and applicable VA and NAVFAC requirements. The role focuses on managing daily field activities, supervising subcontractors, administering the Accident Prevention Plan (APP), conducting inspections, and delivering safe, compliant, and high‑quality work in an occupied medical facility.

Work Environment
This role is based full‑time on site at a federal healthcare facility in North Chicago, IL, supporting a project to replace the roof on the main hospital building. The work takes place in and around an occupied medical center, requiring careful coordination to minimize disruption to patient care and clinical operations. The environment involves active construction areas, rooftop work, and interaction with hospital staff and other stakeholders, with strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control considerations. The position operates within a federal construction framework, following NAVFAC and Department of Veterans Affairs standards and utilizing technologies such as NAVFAC eCMS for documentation where applicable. Work hours follow typical construction schedules, with the need to be present during core site activities and inspections. Appropriate construction site attire and personal protective equipment are required at all times, reflecting the safety‑focused culture and regulatory demands of the facility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.07/hr.
