Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Pay: Competitive pay based on education and/or experience and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Position:

Shall perform tests which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility, with minimal supervision by the Testing Operations Director/Manager in only those specialties or subspecialties in which they are qualified by education, training, and experience. Responsible for sample processing, test performance, equipment maintenance, and for reporting test results. Resolve or delegate problems as needed to ensure a safe blood supply and a reasonable testing turnaround time. Maintain the laboratory have a direct oversight for the QC lab operations. QC Laboratory Supervisor must be qualified as a General Supervisor per CLIA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution.
  • Must have at least two years of lab experience for high and moderate complexity testing for CLIA General Supervisor requirements
  • Strong computer skills, including experience in the development and maintenance of data bases, are strongly desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of moderate complexity test performance by QC personnel.
  • Provide orientation to all QC personnel.
  • Must be accessible to the laboratory to provide on-site, telephone, or electronic consultation
  • Ensuring that test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly.
  • Evaluates the competency of all testing personnel and assuring that the staff maintains their competency to perform test procedures and report test results promptly, accurately, and proficiently.
  • Available for taking on-call questions/issues.
  • Available during on-site inspections/assessments.
  • Ensure that samples that are collected for testing to be performed by a reference laboratory are shipped and that required test data is received and reported
  • Ensure that all donor tests are completed as required
  • Run reports as required to ensure that pending tests are performed
  • Perform staff competency assessments.
  • Ensure that staff uses PPE as required
  • Assist in the development of staffing schedules
  • Ensure that all equipment maintenance is performed at the required intervals.
  • Review all equipment maintenance records in the applicable time frame.
  • Document and investigate deviations to identify root causes and develop effective corrective actions
  • Follow laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of test results.
  • Commit and validate testing results
  • Address all Rees (Central Monitoring System) alarms appropriately and ensure that comments are entered and appropriate for issues.
  • Assist in other areas of the lab as required
  • Manage tasks, emails and calendars through outlook to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Perform, record, and report testing on blood products
  • Monitoring Quality Control
  • Available during site inspections
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
  • Provides backup and support in the absence of the Testing Laboratory Director/Manager
  • Perform additional duties as needed
  • Motivate staff
  • Resolve staff conflicts
