Sunnen Products Company is seeking a detail‑oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will inspect parts, assemblies, gages, and machines to ensure they meet specifications; troubleshoot quality issues; and provide technical support to engineering, production, purchasing, and process control teams. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on manufacturing environment and enjoys solving problems with precision and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect process parts and compare them to engineering prints using a variety of gages and machines.
Review machine setups and notify production of out‑of‑tolerance conditions.
Assist shop personnel with inspection methods and print interpretation.
Prepare written program updates and enter required commands.
Record actual values for new or revised parts for engineering documentation.
Inspect purchased parts and components to ensure they meet print and purchase requirements.
Label and reject defective incoming parts as needed.
Retrieve and review prints, routings, bills of materials, and related documentation.
Prepare written updates for QCI standards for machines and gages.
Compare machine output gages to QCI standards.
Complete stock audits. Create IHTRs, receive rejects, and communicate findings.
Light physical effort overall; may lift 25-50 lbs occasionally and over 50 lbs rarely.
Strong close‑vision ability for reading gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments.
Work Environment:
Generally good working conditions. Occasional exposure to elements, but not to an uncomfortable degree.
Experience::
Advanced shop mathematics required.
Equivalent to a formal apprenticeship.
3-5 years of experience in a similar inspection or machining role.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong problem‑solving skills in standardized situations.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Tools & Equipment:
Experience with computers and common software applications, Hand tools, and Precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
