Position: Quality Control Inspector
Location: Rochester, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join a growing plastics manufacturing company in the Rochester area. This temp-to-perm opportunity offers the chance to become a key contributor to a quality-focused production team while building a long-term career in manufacturing. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections, maintaining quality records, conducting audits, and ensuring products consistently meet customer and company specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience using precision measuring equipment, interpreting engineering drawings, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate:

  • $20.00 - $23.00/Hour (Based On Experience)

Shift(s):

  • A Shift: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM (Monday - Friday)

Job Duties:

  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, optical equipment, profilometers, and other precision measuring devices
  • Conduct first-piece, in-process, and changeover inspections to verify product quality and process compliance
  • Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials while initiating hold procedures when necessary
  • Execute established reaction plans when quality concerns are identified
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and traceability requirements
  • Verify labeling, raw material status, and product specifications
  • Conduct process audits, product audits, and dock audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Participate in customer issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform incoming inspections on raw materials and components as required
  • Complete non-conforming material reports and communicate quality concerns to production and management teams
  • Support internal and external quality audits
  • Adhere to all quality management system requirements, safety procedures, and company policies

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, control plans, and GD&T
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and control charts
  • Experience identifying process trends and supporting quality improvement efforts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Minitab, SQC Pack, or similar quality software is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the shift
  • Regular use of inspection and measurement equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Strong visual acuity, including close vision and color differentiation
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform detailed inspections throughout the workday
