Position Overview
The Quality Control Inspector (Avionics) is responsible for performing detailed inspections, testing, and verification of avionics components and systems. This Quality Control Inspector (Avionics) role ensures all work meets FAA, EASA, AS9100, and customer quality standards. The ideal Quality Control Inspector (Avionics) is highly detail-oriented, experienced in aerospace quality systems, and committed to compliance and accuracy.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 3+ years of avionics inspection experience
Strong knowledge of FAA Part 145, EASA, and AS9100 standards
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals
Experience with precision measurement tools and calibration equipment
Strong documentation and traceability management skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with teams and auditors
High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree or A&P license preferred)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on avionics components
Verify repairs, modifications, and overhauls meet FAA, EASA, and OEM requirements
Document inspection results in compliance with AS9100 and repair station procedures
Review work orders, service tags, and certifications for accuracy and completeness
Ensure full traceability of parts and materials
Conduct functional testing and calibration of avionics equipment
Identify and document nonconformities and support corrective actions
Support internal and external audits
Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and documentation standards
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
Experience with electronic testing and troubleshooting avionics systems
Prior experience supporting FAA/EASA audits
Work Environment
Aerospace inspection and lab environment
Highly regulated setting requiring strict quality and safety compliance
May require overtime to meet production and customer deadlines
