Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to support the installation and integration of large electrical equipment and systems within a factory/manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of electrical codes, torque requirements, and installation best practices, along with a solid foundation in manufacturing quality systems.
This role is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations meet applicable codes, specifications, and quality standards, while proactively identifying and resolving issues during assembly and installation operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspection of electrical equipment installations including switchgear, MCCs, transformers, and bus systems
Verify installations comply with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NEMA, IEEE)
Inspect electrical and mechanical connections including torque verification
Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Verify cable routing, terminations, grounding, and bonding
Monitor installations to ensure adherence to procedures and standards
Document inspection results and maintain quality records
Generate and manage NCRs
Coordinate with production and engineering to resolve issues
On-the-Floor Expectations (Factory)
Maintain presence on the factory floor during installation activities
Verify torque using calibrated tools and ensure proper documentation
Ensure proper installation and handling of large electrical components
Engage with electricians and technicians to enforce quality standards
Identify and escalate quality issues early
Maintain traceability and documentation
Stop work if critical quality issues are identified
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience in electrical inspection or installation in manufacturing
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and power equipment
Familiarity with NEC, NEMA, IEEE codes
Experience with torque requirements and bolted connections
