Are you the QA leader who turns standards into practice?
If guiding engineers, elevating rigor, and navigating NRC/DOE/ASME requirements sounds like your kind of challenge, this role is for you. You’ll ensure equipment qualification work meets contractual commitments and Westinghouse program expectations while coaching a high-performing team. You will report to the Quality Manager.
What you’ll do
- Lead and mentor engineers delivering complex equipment qualification tasks.
- Oversee work execution, delegate effectively, and grow talent through coaching and training.
- Develop technical training content for critical product areas.
- Provide support and manager input to PFP reviews.
- Integrate contractual and Westinghouse quality program requirements into project planning documentation.
- Conduct in-process software audits to confirm compliance.
- Plan and support customer audit readiness and execution.
How you’ll make an impact
- Spot and define technical issues early; coordinate resolution to closure.
- Contribute to the IPC budget for Quality line items.
- Promote discipline and create structured peer-check opportunities across the team.
- Support resource development: regular check-ins, TLDP progression reviews, development assignments, and onboarding.
- Manage priorities, make data-based decisions, and communicate effectively with management and WEC staff.
- Advance a Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) and reinforce Westinghouse’s Nuclear Safety Culture.
- Apply industry, regulatory, and NRC/DOE/ASME codes, standards, and criteria in daily execution.
- Serve on internal audit teams, lead internal audits, and comment on proposed Level 2 procedure revisions.
What you bring
- Technical bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 6 years of nuclear QA experience; proficient with multiple ISO standards, ASME NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21, and related nuclear QA standards.
- Demonstrated judgment and the ability to handle multiple assignments from supervisory project managers and mentors.
