Position Purpose:

The Quality Clinical Analyst supports the functions of the organization-wide Quality Management System which enables cost-effective, high quality and safe patient care. This position is a link between Quality Management and regulatory requirements related to electronic health information measures and metrics across the organization. The position provides a bridge aligning electronic health information measures with regulatory requirements by standardizing workflows and aligning application versions with current regulatory requirements. This position is the technical liaison between the following departments: Finance/Quality/Information Systems/Care Delivery Teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Quality Clinical Analyst will be the technical liaison for electronic health information regulatory programs. This position will be responsible for educating the technical and non-technical staff on regulatory requirements related to electronic health information clinical quality measures, HIE metrics and Promoting Interoperability Requirements

Specific duties include:

  • CMS Promoting Interoperability program participation requirements including goals, milestones, and progress*
  • Understanding/support of the Differential Adjustment Payment Program (HIE) program participation/requirements*
  • Responsible for electronic health information quality regulatory program maintenance i.e., IQR, OQR, eCQM's etc. *
  • Through research, develop and implement best practice applications and optimization of workflows to enhance success of quality projects with a focus on continuous quality improvement *
  • Review medical charts for appropriate PI and eCQM validation: Ensures the integrity and accuracy of information collected and reported in the EHR tool
  • Assesses potential problems affecting the data collection process and coordinates follow-up of problem resolution with the team and/or manager. Meets all deadlines
  • Identifies opportunities for performance improvement based on reliable data trending. Makes recommendations based on recognition and analysis of gaps in documentation
  • Clearly and consistently communicate progress toward goals
  • Responsible for timely completion of large, complex projects to include timeline development, coordination of activities and data collection, and future program maintenance
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple internal and external projects
  • Take initiative in completing project tasks, including requesting data, following up, and setting up onsite appointments
  • Must have the ability to analyze and apply theory to practice skills
  • Understanding of wide-range health care processes and business expertise including knowledge of healthcare issues, workflows, applications, policies, and standards

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Informatics, Business, or five (5) years of relative experience.

Required Experience:

Proven experience working with multidisciplinary workgroups, departments and individuals.

  • Demonstrated high level analytic, implementation, and troubleshooting skills over a broad range of systems
  • Responsible for or participated in teams responsible for the building and maintenance of data and tables within systems
  • Possesses the ability to extract data from databases in support of clinical, financial or statistical needs
  • Must be familiar with HIPAA\HITEC and CMS reporting requirements

Preferences

Education: Master's degree in Data Analytics, Informatics, or Business
