Title: QC/QA Technician
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
Location: Houston, Texas
Position Summary:
The QC/QA Technician provides technical and quality assurance support to the U.S. business unit, including document verification, regulatory compliance, internal audits, customer interaction, and support for documentation and reporting processes.
Duties:
- Monitor and support compliance with FDA and other regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with Commercial and Logistics teams to resolve customer complaints and quality issues.
- Review and verify COAs/BOLs and terminal instructions; audit and maintain post-loading documentation (e.g., WONA Score Card).
- Complete customer questionnaires in coordination with the Supply Chain Manager and QA Supervisor.
- Document and report on product/service quality levels.
- Develop inspection standards and product inspection workflows.
- Create plans to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
- Support error resolution and communicate findings to the appropriate teams.
- Train QA team members on inspection processes.
- Collaborate across departments to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Required: HACCP experience.
- Preferred: FDA, Food Safety, FSVP Compliance; customer complaint resolution; quality audits.
- Additional Plus: Experience in Cosmetics (MoCRA), USDA/Animal Feed, or Pharma regulations.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- High dependability, organization, and time management.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality standards and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with English language rules and composition.
- Technologically adept; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Other Requirements:
- Mathematical proficiency with ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation.
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving ability for technical and abstract challenges.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Certifications:
- FSVP, PCQI, and HACCP certified.
