Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: Columbus, OH
Pay Rate: $22–23/hour

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to support ingredient quality and supplier change management activities within a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an early-career quality professional with a scientific background who enjoys project coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and driving quality processes from initiation through completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to assess ingredient-related changes, maintain compliance documentation, and ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and manage supplier change notifications through completion
  • Coordinate cross-functional assessments to evaluate the quality and compliance impact of supplier changes
  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to internal stakeholders
  • Support implementation of approved downstream process changes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to ensure traceability and compliance
  • Track multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established timelines
  • Collaborate with Quality, R&D, Procurement, Operations, and Supply Chain teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier quality and change management processes
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with external suppliers and business partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Food Science, Nutrition Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • 1–3 years of experience in a regulated food, nutrition, manufacturing, quality, or related industry
  • Basic understanding of ingredient quality, supplier quality, regulatory requirements, or quality systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable communicating with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with data reporting tools such as Power BI is a plus but not required
