**Responsibilities:

**

**

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of food safety and quality management systems, ensuring compliance with FSMA Preventive Controls, SQF, HACCP, GMP, and allergen control programs.
  • Partner with Regulatory and Compliance teams to maintain compliance with FDA regulations, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Manage and lead customer audits, regulatory inspections, SQF certification audits, and internal quality audits, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor internal audit programs, identify non-conformances, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality, food safety, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Establish and monitor plant-specific quality metrics, analyze performance trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with food safety, quality, sanitation, and regulatory requirements through regular plant floor inspections and audits.
  • Oversee sanitation verification programs to ensure adherence to established food safety standards.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance development for Quality Control personnel.
  • Develop and deliver onboarding and ongoing training programs covering food safety, quality systems, GMPs, HACCP, and regulatory compliance for employees at all organizational levels.
  • Promote a culture of food safety, quality excellence, continuous improvement, and employee safety throughout the facility.
  • Maintain, update, and enforce food safety, quality assurance, and employee safety policies and procedures.

**Qualifications:

**

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a GFSI-certified food manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2–3 years of leadership experience within Quality Assurance or Food Safety.
  • Strong working knowledge of FSMA Preventive Controls, HACCP, GMPs, SQF, and other GFSI-recognized food safety systems.
  • HACCP Certification required; PCQI and SQF Practitioner certifications preferred.
  • Experience leading customer audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party certification audits.
  • Demonstrated success implementing food safety programs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated professional capable of making sound decisions, working independently, and leading teams with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
