A growing food manufacturing organization in the Evansville area is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for maintaining USDA compliance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and building a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead all quality assurance and food safety programs for the facility.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for USDA inspections and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Manage HACCP, GMP, SSOP, food defense, environmental monitoring, and sanitation verification programs.
  • Lead internal audits, customer audits, and third-party audit preparation and execution.
  • Drive corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Leadership teams.
  • Develop, mentor, and lead quality team members while promoting accountability and engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics, customer complaints, non-conformances, and food safety trends.
  • Ensure all quality systems, records, and documentation remain audit-ready and compliant.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive quality leadership experience within food manufacturing.
  • Strong USDA knowledge and current experience working directly with USDA inspectors is required.
  • Hands-on experience managing HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and food safety programs.
  • Proven leadership experience managing quality teams.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, audit management, and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
  • Experience in meat, poultry, or other USDA-regulated manufacturing environments highly preferred.
