We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Quality Assurance Engineer. This position reports to the Quality Manager and will work in Sparta, TN.
About the position
As Quality Assurance Engineer of the Sparta team, you will be involved in monitoring Internal and External Quality at the Plant Level and serves as a Liaison to Customers related to Production Quality, RGA, and Warranty. In addition, the Quality Engineer will provide shop floor leadership to Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection while supervising the daily activates of Quality Technicians in assigned work areas. The Quality Engineer will be a key contributor to ISO 9001 activates and support other Quality functions in a fast-paced work environment.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Ensure Product meets safety, regulatory, and performance standards
- Lead a Cross-Functional Team through the 5Why / 8D Process to resolve Customer Complaints via Root Cause investigation and Countermeasure implementation
- Lead the Returned Goods Authorization process and work with Customers to resolve (RGA) claims
- Ensure Quality Technicians complete daily Inspection and Testing, per requirements
- Report Customer Quality Issues to the Management Team and provide Customer feedback in a timely manner
- Lead PPAP activity and provide submissions to the Customer
- Perform Control Plan and SOP Audits
- Lead Containments, Sorting, and Rework activity related to any Quality spills
- Manage Inspections, RGA, Warranty, Corrective Actions in the Sparta 1Factory QMS
- Write and present concise Reports related to Quality Issues, Warranty, KPIs, etc.

Skills & Requirements
A suitable background would be a solid experience within Quality and Manufacturing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or Applied Sciences
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Mfg. Tier 1 or OEM environment
- APQP and PPAP Core Tools implementation
- Customer relationship building
- CQE, CQI, or Six Sigma Greenbelt
- Print Reading and understanding of GD&T
- ISO 9001 Certified Auditor
- Microsoft Office applications and Minitab
