Job Purpose

The Intercontinental Exchange is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience in manual testing and a growing automation skillset. In this role, you will help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products by designing and executing test strategies, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with development and product teams. This is a great opportunity to deepen your automation capabilities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on requirements and user stories
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing across web and/or mobile applications
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, ALM) and follow up with development teams through resolution
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, providing QA input throughout the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand requirements and clarify acceptance criteria
  • Analyze test results, prepare test summary reports, and communicate quality metrics to stakeholders
  • Help maintain and improve existing test documentation, test suites, and QA processes
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and assist end users or stakeholders during testing phases as needed

Knowledge and Experience

  • 2–5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing
  • Strong proficiency in manual testing methodologies including black-box, white-box, and exploratory testing
  • Experience writing and maintaining detailed test cases, test plans, and bug reports
  • Familiarity with at least one test automation tool or framework (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Playwright, Maven/Gradle)
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Proficiency with defect tracking and project management tools such as Jira or ALM.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation and database testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience with ALM or other test management tools.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
  • Proficiency writing complex SQL queries against Oracle or similar databases.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent QA certification
  • Background in a SaaS or cloud-based software environment
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
