Position Summary
The Janitorial Quality Assurance and Training Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent cleaning quality standards across all facilities, developing and delivering employee training programs, conducting inspections and audits, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with operations, supervisors, and frontline staff to maintain compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
• Conduct routine and unannounced inspections of facilities to evaluate cleaning performance and compliance with company standards.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures, inspection checklists, and performance metrics.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address service deficiencies through corrective action plans.
• Investigate quality concerns and recommend solutions to improve service delivery.
• Analyze inspection data and prepare reports on quality trends, performance scores, and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with contractual cleaning requirements and industry standards.
Training and Development
• Design, implement, and maintain training programs for janitorial staff, supervisors, and managers.
• Conduct orientation training for new employees.
• Provide hands-on instruction in cleaning techniques, equipment operation, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
• Evaluate employee competencies and identify training needs.
• Develop training materials and standard operating procedures.
• Track training completion and maintain employee certification records.
Safety and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company safety policies.
• Train employees in proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
• Conduct safety audits and assist with incident investigations.
• Promote safe work practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance with environmental and sanitation requirements.
Leadership and Support
• Collaborate with operations managers, supervisors and administration management to improve service quality.
• Mentor supervisors and team leaders on quality standards and performance management.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide quality assurance updates when needed.
• Support staffing transitions, new account startups, and special projects.
• Assist in developing and implementing operational best practices.
Qualifications
Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred but not required.
Experience
• 3–5 years of janitorial, custodial, facilities management, environmental services experience, or management.
• Previous experience in quality assurance, training, supervision, or operations management preferred.
• Experience conducting inspections, audits, and employee training.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, equipment, and products.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and presentation skills.
• Ability to evaluate performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inspection/reporting software.
• Ability to analyze data and generate performance reports.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to walk, stand, and inspect facilities for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to travel between work sites and customer locations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.

Reports To: Director of Operations, Human Resources Manager, and President.
Supervises: Supervisors, Lead Staff and Custodial Staff (as assigned)
Salary: $50,000 annual salary
