Position Summary

The QHSE Specialist role provides technical and operational support to ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory and certification standards. The QHSE Specialist works closely with internal teams to promote continuous improvement across all QHSE processes.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Review, evaluate, and approve supplier quality documentation to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and QHSE requirements prior to shipment.
  • Maintain, control, and audit supplier and internal QHSE documentation, ensuring accurate filing and data entry within the ERP system.
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the company's QHSE Management System in alignment with API Q1, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain QHSE templates, forms, procedures, and work instructions to improve data capture, traceability, and process consistency.
  • Review, process, and track Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and Safety Observations using QHSE software platforms.
  • Analyze QHSE data and trends to support root cause analysis, corrective action effectiveness, and management reporting.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce QHSE Risk or improve processes across the organization.
  • Chair the QHSE Committee ensuring quarterly projects and engagement activities are completed.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and independently manage assigned tasks to meet deadlines and business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QHSE Responsibilities:

Required Education:

  • Associate's degree or a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a QHSE, quality, or compliance-related role.

 

 

Desired Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or four (4) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a QHSE, quality, or compliance-focused role.
  • Ability to read and interpret Material Traceability Reports (MTRs) and material specification standards.
  • Working knowledge of API Q1, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 documentation and record retention requirements.
  • Experience reviewing controlled documents and maintaining document management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft and revise procedures and work instructions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

 

Desired Experience:

  • Four (4) or more years of related experience in quality, manufacturing, or QHSE systems.
  • Experience interfacing with ERP or MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Participation in internal audits, supplier audits, or certification audits.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit, lift, push, pull and move objects for 8-12 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift and carry files, packages, boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Speak/hear and use specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Capable of properly using standard office equipment, including telephone, and a computer with keyboard.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Includes steel toe shoes and safety glasses. Additional PPE may be required based on location and task.

 

Work Environment:

  • Work will mostly be performed indoors in a controlled environment.
  • Some exposure to the manufacturing and shop areas with exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
