EHS Coordinator

City of Industry, CA

 

Compensation Includes

  • Starting Pay Rate of $31.25 - $36.06/hour - depending on experience

Overview

The QEHS Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety management systems. This role ensures compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.

 

Responsibilities

 

Quality Management

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System
  • Support internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and corrective action follow-up
  • Monitor product and process quality metrics, identify trends, and assist in root-cause analysis
  • Coordinate nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with supplier quality evaluations and customer quality requirements

Environmental Management

  • Support compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability goals
  • Maintain environmental documentation, permits, and reporting requirements
  • Assist with waste management, recycling programs, and pollution prevention initiatives
  • Participate in environmental risk assessments and improvement projects

Health & Safety

  • Help implement and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Management System
  • Conduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
  • Track and report safety metrics, near-misses, and corrective actions
  • Coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, and employee awareness programs
  • Support emergency response planning and drills

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and organized QEHS records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Prepare reports for management review meetings and regulatory submissions
  • Ensure controlled documents are updated, distributed, and archived properly

Training & Communication

  • Assist in delivering QEHS training to employees and contractors
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safe work practices
  • Communicate QEHS expectations, policies, and updates across the organization

Qualifications

  • Experience in QEHS, compliance, manufacturing, or related fields
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems and Regulatory Compliance
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to influence and promote safe behaviors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, SQF, HACCP, Internal Auditor, or similar
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Familiarity with root-cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, Human Performance)
