We’re seeking an experienced QC Manager to support industrial and structural steel construction projects in Mesa, AZ. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to balance technical precision, field execution, documentation, and client expectations without slowing production momentum.

You’ll play a critical leadership role overseeing QA/QC programs, inspections, compliance, and project quality performance across complex construction environments.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards including AWS, AISC, ASTM, and ISO requirements
  • Oversee field inspections for structural steel erection, welding, bolting, coatings, and client equipment anchoring
  • Coordinate inspections with third-party inspectors, client representatives, and project stakeholders
  • Review and approve material submittals, mill test reports (MTRs), and fabrication documentation
  • Monitor welding activities including WPS/PQR compliance and welder qualifications
  • Maintain traceability and documentation for materials, inspections, and quality processes
  • Conduct internal audits, site quality assessments, and compliance reviews
  • Identify non-conformances (NCRs), implement corrective actions, and track resolution through closeout
  • Maintain QA/QC reports, turnover packages, and project closeout documentation
  • Lead quality meetings and provide mentorship and training to field teams
  • Partner closely with construction operations to resolve quality issues efficiently while protecting project schedules
  • Support client walkthroughs, inspections, and final acceptance activities

What You Bring

  • 7-15+ years of QA/QC experience within industrial construction and structural steel environments
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding, and erection processes
  • Experience supporting large-scale industrial or mission critical construction projects
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational abilities
  • Experience with QA/QC software systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively in demanding field environments and active construction sites

Preferred Certifications

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • NACE or AMPP Coating Inspector Certification
  • ACI, ICC, or related inspection certifications
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification

Physical & Work Environment
