QA Test Manager

ASSYST is seeking an experienced QA Test Manager to lead and manage quality assurance and testing activities across all phases of the software development life cycle for our client in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), coordinate testing activities with business stakeholders and vendors and ensure high-quality software delivery. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in testing tools and methodologies and the ability to manage testing teams while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced managerial tasks related to QA, testing and software development analysis and configuration testing.
• Manage and oversee testing activities throughout the entire System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Analyze, diagnose and resolve reported software issues while troubleshooting system problems for internal and external clients.
• Define and review User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy for modernization projects and guide teams during Soft UAT phases.
• Coordinate sprint review feedback with vendor staff and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Review vendor-provided test cases with SMEs and recommend improvements or edits.
• Collaborate with business users and SMEs to develop, update and execute test cases and provide detailed test reports.
• Serve as the primary liaison between IT teams, business stakeholders and vendors.
• Lead defect triage activities including tracking, prioritization and resolution management.
• Conduct root cause analysis on defects and identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide weekly updates on UAT progress, testing outcomes and defect status.
• Monitor requirement traceability, test coverage and overall testing progress.
• Ensure UAT exit criteria are achieved and obtain final business sign-off.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience overseeing user acceptance, performance, accessibility, interface, security and data conversion testing.
• Ability to manage, monitor, perform and report testing activities on modern technology platforms.
• Experience reviewing, updating and creating test strategies, test suites and test cases.
• Ability to document and report test results, data conversion issues, integration issues and problem incident reports (PIRs)/defect statuses.
• Experience providing training and mentoring to testing team members.
• Ability to coordinate testing schedules, team resources and testing meetings.
• Experience with testing tools such as Jira, TestSavvy, JUnit, Selenium, Microfocus UFT and SQL.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools such as JProfiler and JMeter.
• Experience working with Salesforce platforms.
• Strong understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with emphasis on testing disciplines.
• Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience working directly with a Texas state agency as an employee or contractor in a QA Test Manager role.
• Experience serving as a team leader or project manager.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, planning and problem-solving skills.
