Role: QA Lead Engineer

Role Summary:
As a Lead QA Engineer within the Automation Center of Excellence (ACE) at Staples Global Capability Center India, you will bring technical expertise in designing automation frameworks across Web, Mobile, and Microservices APIs. You will play a role in modernizing Staples’ eCommerce automation platforms, enhancing user experiences, and driving operational efficiency through innovative automation strategies. You will work with teams across eCommerce, engineering, and product to integrate tools and support key business goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Java, TestNG, Maven, Selenium, Appium, and RestAssured, with seamless integration into
tools such as Jira, Selenium Grid, and cloud-based platforms like LambdaTest.
Lead automation platform support across Staples eCommerce platforms UI, responsive web, native mobile applications, and microservices-based architectures.
Apply strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and implement the Page Object Model to ensure scalable and maintainable automation architecture.
Utilize AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, intelligent IDEs) to enhance automation efficiency and reduce manual effort for Staples SDETs
Operate within Agile development environments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to align testing strategies with sprint goals.
Drive knowledge sharing initiatives, mentor new engineering teams and support existing teams in overcoming automation challenges.
Spearhead proof-of-concept projects to evaluate and implement cutting-edge automation solutions tailored to enterprise needs.
Collaborate with Engineering, vendor, and security teams to ensure automation strategies align with broader business and compliance objectives.
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously recommending and implementing improvements to enhance the accuracy, speed,
and user experience of the automation framework.
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an eCommerce and engineering role.
Minimum of 6 years of experience working with high-traffic, large-scale distributed systems and cloud platforms.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 4+ years of proven QA experience.
Skilled in testing enterprise-level web applications, utilizing various QA tools and methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Java, Selenium, TestNG, Azure, and Object Model frameworks to enhance automation infrastructure.
Proficient in developing and executing Java/Selenium automation scripts using TestNG, Selenium Grid, and cloud platforms.
Experienced in developing test automation scripts, with programming skills in at least one development language (preferably OO, Java, Python, or Perl).
Demonstrated Quality Engineering automation experience using Selenium.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Java or any other OOP language certifications.
