Quality Assurance Bench Tech - 2nd Shift Opportunities Monday - Friday 1:00PM - 9:30PM

Here at Ken’s Foods, located in Lebanon, IN, we manufacture Ken’s Salad dressing and Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce. The entire process from following the recipe, creating the products using established specifications and qualities processes, packaging into retail and food service packages or containers, and shipping the product to our customers is all handled under one roof. All of our QA Bench Tech positions start at $23.00 per hour, with $1.00 shift differential, and we are paid weekly. Summary

The QA Bench Technician will be responsible for ensuring that the daily quality testing and activities are carried out in a timely fashion and documented in accordance with company standards. Work with other departments to ensure that products consistently remain within quality specifications by performing various analytical tests and checks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·   Responsible for compliance to Food Safety; maintain SQF certification through compliance to

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain good housekeeping by being inspection ready

at all times

·   Aid in testing each batch for acidity, salt, viscosity, and color; making sure that they are in

specification

·   Give correction to any batches that are out of specification

·   Test filler before each line start up

·   Test finished product for acidity, salt, viscosity, and color every hour

·   Inspect labels, codes, and weights on finished products to make sure that they meet quality

standard

·   Identify and place products on hold that do not meet specifications

·   Collect samples for shelf-life and micro-plating

·   Calibrate acid and salt titrators daily

·   Audit operation’s Quality at the Source documentation and testing methods

·   Conduct HACCP CCP verifications daily

·   Other duties as assigned

Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the HACCP policy
  • Uphold Quality standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure the team adheres to Ken’s Foods SQF, Security and GMP policies
  • Reporting any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
  • Inspection of work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Your profile:

  •  High school diploma/GED OR one to three months of related experience or training
  •  Basic math skills to measure weight, volume, and distance (add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10s and 100s)
  •  Can lift or move up to 50 lbs. (occasionally move up to 100 lbs.) 
  •  Able to frequently stand and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  •  Able to occasionally climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and hear
  •  Optional: can drive a fork truck for retrieval of raw materials (license would be required)
