Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright, TypeScript, API automation, and performance testing to join a fast-paced engineering team in Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing robust automated testing solutions, validating APIs, performing performance and security testing, and integrating quality engineering practices into modern CI/CD pipelines.
This is an onsite role with an opportunity for long-term growth and potential permanent conversion based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Build and execute automated API test suites using Rest Assured and validate service functionality, reliability, and security.
  • Perform performance, load, and stress testing using Apache JMeter to identify bottlenecks and ensure application scalability.
  • Support security-focused testing efforts by validating API security controls and identifying potential vulnerabilities.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps teams to enable continuous testing.
  • Create and maintain reusable test scripts, test data, and automation frameworks.
  • Analyze test results, investigate defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release activities to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, automation coverage, and quality engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • 3 5 years of hands-on experience in QA Automation or Software Test Engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Playwright with TypeScript for web UI automation.
  • Experience performing API automation testing using Rest Assured.
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing using Apache JMeter.
  • Understanding of API security testing concepts and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated regression and functional test suites.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in Agile environments.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale product development environments.
  • Familiarity with modern software development and release management practices.
  • Knowledge of test reporting, quality metrics, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
