Purchasing Specialist (Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces)

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Three years of purchasing and/ or contract management experience involving a variety of commodities are required. Completion of college coursework may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.

A Purchasing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves preparing and reviewing requisitions, soliciting, and evaluating quotes, verifying contract compliance, and ensuring adherence to established purchasing policies and procedures. The Purchasing Specialist works closely with vendors, end users, and departmental staff to support operational needs, maintain accurate records, and uphold transparency and efficiency throughout the procurement process.

Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday form 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
