Required Education: M.D/D.O. or equivalent

Required Related Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship.
  • BEBC in both Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine.
  • Lung transplant fellowship or equivalent experience in the care of pre and post lung transplant patients is required.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

  • AABIP board certified/eligible Pulmonary/Critical Care board certified/eligible.
  • Internal Medicine board certified.
  • KY Medical License by employment.

Job Summary The Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a Transplant Pulmonologist to join a team dedicated to expanding a thriving lung transplant program. The ideal candidate will be an M.D/D.O. or equivalent eligible for a Kentucky Medical License, have completed an accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine fellowship and BEBC in both Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine. Lung transplant fellowship or equivalent experience in the care of pre and post lung transplant patients is required.

Candidates will be responsible for:

  • Providing inpatient care for patients in the UK Lung Transplant program.
  • The evaluation of patients for lung transplant listing, both inpatient and outpatient.
  • Outpatient post-transplant care.

Candidates will have the opportunity and are encouraged to be involved in the teaching of University of Kentucky medical students, residents, and fellows. There are also opportunities to participate in patient-oriented research in the areas of advanced lung diseases and lung transplantation. Salaries and academic rank are commensurate with experience.
