Do you love children's books, storytelling, and bringing creative ideas to life? We're looking for a Children's Publishing Coordinator to join our Action Bible & Kids Publishing team. In this role, you'll support the development and execution of children's publishing initiatives—from early product planning through production and promotion.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain meaningful experience in publishing while collaborating with creative, marketing, editorial, production, and sales teams. If you're organized, curious, detail-oriented, and energized by creative work, this role is a great fit.

What You'll Do

As the Children's Publishing Coordinator, you'll play a key role in keeping projects moving smoothly and supporting the success of our children's publishing efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and project support to the publishing team, including scheduling, document preparation, meeting coordination, and tracking deliverables
  • Assist with product development by monitoring timelines, documenting action items, and following up with internal partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, editorial, production, and sales teams to move products through the publishing process
  • Conduct market and competitive research to support product strategy and brand decisions
  • Help plan and coordinate events, trade shows, and promotional activities that increase brand visibility
  • Prepare and update brand plans, presentations, reports, and leadership updates
  • Coordinate with external vendors, agencies, and partners to support publishing initiatives
  • Maintain organized digital brand and product folders, ensuring files are current and accessible
  • Support additional projects as needed with a flexible, can-do attitude

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is both detail-oriented and creative, with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Publishing, or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree)
  • Experience through internships, coursework, or professional roles in publishing, marketing, administration, or project coordination
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Editorial sensibility and an eye for design aesthetics
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Typical business hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends as needed
  • Office-based work environment with collaborative spaces
  • Some travel may be required

About David C Cook

Founded in 1875, David C Cook is a leading nonprofit discipleship resource provider based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  For more than 140 years, David C Cook has served the Global Church with life transforming materials from best-selling books and curriculum, to toys and games and small group resources.  With additional offices in Elgin, Illinois and Eastbourne, UK, David C Cook is a global organization whose resources are published in more than 150 languages, distributed in more than 170 countries, and sold worldwide through retail stores, catalogs, and online.

Our Mission

David C Cook is a nonprofit organization dedicated to publishing and distributing leadership and discipleship resources to help Christians all over the world grow in their faith and pass it on to the next generation.  We call this “DiscipleShaping“.  We were established in 1875 by David Caleb Cook in Chicago, IL.  Since that time, we have published numerous bestselling books from The Picture Bible to Crazy Love by Francis Chan, developed over ten lines of Sunday school curriculum, and published many of today’s most popular praise and worship songs through our music division, Integrity Music.

As a ministry, we do more than just publish and distribute Christian resources.  We partner with indigenous organizations to equip Pastors, Lay Leaders, and Sunday School Teachers with our materials in places like India, China, and Cuba. In some places (underdeveloped countries), we make them available at no charge. In others, (developing countries), we subsidize the cost to make them more affordable.

Core Values

Truth - "Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ.”    Ephesians 4:15

Love - “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”  John 13:35

Integrity - “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.”  II Corinthians 8:21

Cooperation - “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”  Proverbs 15:22

Accountability - “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”  Hebrews 4:13

Excellence - “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”  Colossians 3:23

Innovation - “In every way make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.”  Titus 2:10b
