The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of AVTEC, is recruiting for a Publications Specialist 2 located in Seward! No Cover Letter Required!

This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 16.

What You Will Be Doing:

The Publications Specialist 2 coordinates and produces print and digital communications that support students, faculty, staff, administrators, external partners, and the broader community, ensuring consistent messaging across all stakeholder groups. This role researches, writes, edits, and designs publications, recruitment materials, website content, social media, press releases, and promotional materials in close collaboration with subject matter experts and division leadership. A critical responsibility is ensuring all communications strictly align with AVTEC's strategic messaging and comply with State of Alaska communication standards, accreditation requirements, and approved review processes. The position serves as liaison with external printing vendors and procurement, overseeing production quality, budget adherence, and contract compliance while maintaining inventories of promotional and recruitment materials. Additionally, the specialist manages digital assets, archives official documents and forms, and supports public relations and outreach efforts to maintain a professional, unified, and compliant institutional presence.
