Public Works Flood Control Project Manager - $120K-$150K
Phoenix, AZ | Onsite

A growing civil engineering firm is seeking an experienced Public Works Flood Control Project Manager to lead water resources, flood control, and surface water engineering projects throughout Arizona.

This onsite opportunity offers $120,000-$150,000 and is ideal for engineers with strong hydrology, hydraulics, floodplain management, and project leadership experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage flood control, drainage, and water resources projects
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis
  • Support flood hazard identification and mitigation studies
  • Manage FEMA-related studies and Area Drainage Master Studies
  • Oversee design of drainage systems, stream stabilization projects, and hydraulic structures
  • Review engineering calculations and perform quality assurance reviews
  • Prepare technical reports, exhibits, and construction documents
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation
  • Mentor and supervise engineering staff
  • Support proposal development, contract negotiations, and business development efforts
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Experience leading water resources and flood control projects
  • Strong hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience
  • FLO-2D experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing technical teams and client relationships
  • Ability to obtain Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification within six months if not currently certified

Preferred:

  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
  • FEMA study experience
  • Area Drainage Master Study experience
  • River mechanics and sediment analysis experience
  • Transportation drainage design experience
  • Business development experience
