Under the general supervision of a Crew Leader, Field Supervisor, and Water Reclamation Manager, this entry-to-mid-level position is responsible for performing specialized duties related to the assigned public utilities operational area, with a focus on wastewater, collection systems, and associated infrastructure. Core Responsibilities: Completes specific duties in wastewater and collection systems.Equipment Operation: Operates light and heavy-duty specialized equipment alongside a wide variety of hand and power tools. Performs general maintenance on equipment and tools related to the assigned area.Physical Demands: Walks over uneven terrain, stands or drives for extended periods, bends, pushes, pulls, stoops, works in confined spaces, and climbs in/around trenches, wastewater infrastructure, or manholes. Regularly lifts tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.Technology & Reporting: Assists in the completion of records and reports. Operates computers, handheld devices, and various software programs; collects and works with GIS/GPS information.Availability & On-Call Rotation: Must work the days and hours necessary to fulfill responsibilities, beginning and ending work punctually. Required to participate in a designated on-call rotation and must remain available to respond to after-hours emergency calls as scheduled.Driving & Safety Compliance: Maintains the proper Utah Commercial Driver License (CDL) required for the position. If the candidate does not possess a CDL at the time of hire, they must successfully obtain one within 60 days of employment. Strictly observes traffic regulations, follows City policy, and drives safely and courteously. Ensures seatbelt compliance for self and all passengers at all times.
