Job Summary
Patrols campus, conducts security inspections of buildings, and cooperates with Police to protect individuals and property, prevent crime, and monitor environmental hazards.
Job Duties:
Patrols campus to identify, document, and escalate risks to public safety, including crime, environmental hazards, crowd control, and property theft and damage.
Interacts with campus community members and visitors with a customer service orientation, such as answering simple inquiries and providing directions.
Conducts security inspections periodically and makes recommendations for eliminating security risks.
Identifies, corrects, or reports actions or situations which may present a hazard to public safety, physical security, and/or public welfare in and around assigned areas.
Monitor Security cameras and access control on campus during the shifts Basic Smartphone and computer knowledge
All other duties assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
HS diploma/GED and 1-3 years of relevant experience
2 years security experience may be with prior law enforcement, security or military experience.
CPR/AED certified/trained
Report Writing experience
Active observations techniques
Conflict de-escalation
Best practices for emergency response
Responding to Safety Hazards
Some college or agreement to obtain an Associate's Degree
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs on occasion
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate''s degree or equivalent and 2-4 years of relevant experience
Cleary Act knowledge
Previous experience in a community college/University setting
