Job Description
Overview
Schedule: Part Time Evening Shift - (hours between 3pm - 11pm)
Work Location: Arnett Hospital
Department Supported: Department of Public Safety
Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations and policies. Provides direction and guidance to team members, guests and patients. Assists teams with de-escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations. Investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Maintains records and logs and completes written reports as required. Performs physical security screening as required. Creates a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients and guests. Performs other duties as assigned by the chain of command.

Benchmarks:
3 months: Completing training, demonstrating knowledge of policies, effective patrol and report writing
6 months: Independently handling incidents, strong communication and de-escalation skills
12 months: Trusted team member, mentoring newer staff, consistently high performance in safety response
