    Public Safety Administrative Manager

    Reports to: Senior Director of Public Safety

    Classification: Non-Exempt, 12-Month Position

    Position Summary

    The Public Safety Administrative Manager provides essential administrative leadership and operational support to the Senior Director of Public Safety while serving as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors. This position is primarily office-based and customer service focused, ensuring smooth daily operations of the Public Safety Office.

    Administrative & Office Operations

    • Office Management: Manage administrative operations for the Public Safety Department, including correspondence, document management, scheduling, and calendar coordination for the Senior Director of Public Safety.
    • Customer Service: Provide high-level customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, vendors, and visitors in person, by phone, and electronically.
    • Dispatcher Functions: Communicate with on-duty officers using a two-way radio system and assist with information relay as needed.
    • Day-Shift Coordination: Support the Senior Director of Public Safety with communications involving campus departments, parents, students, vendors, and external partners. Compliance, Systems & Monitoring
    • Clery Act Compliance: Serve as the Clery Act Coordinator, overseeing compliance, maintaining required documentation, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies nationwide.
    • Campus Alert System: Maintain and manage the campus-wide emergency alert system.
    • System Administration: Act as administrator for RS2 and Johnson Controls electronic access systems.
    • ID & Access Control: Create and issue ID cards for students, faculty, and staff; manage electronic access permissions and troubleshoot access issues.
    • Fire & Security Monitoring: Monitor fire protection alarms and manage door access systems during assigned shifts.
    • CCTV & Evidence Management: Oversee CCTV monitoring and manage recorded video evidence, including secure storage and authorized distribution.

    Operational Support

    • Lost & Found: Process and securely manage lost and found items.
    • Fine Appeals Coordination: Coordinate fine appeal meetings and notify involved parties of outcomes.
    • Crisis Reporting: Prepare written reports related to students experiencing crises.
    • Vehicle Registration: Administer vehicle registration for students, faculty, and staff.
    • Vendor Access Oversight: Track vendor proximity card usage and manage related fines.
    • Citation Administration: Enter daily citations into the department records management system, maintain accurate records, and communicate with students regarding citations, fines, appeals, and related Public Safety matters.

    Other Duties

    • Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership to support campus safety and operations.

    Qualifications

    • Strong Christian faith with alignment to Evangel University's mission, values, and beliefs.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress or emergency situations.
    • Ability to interact compassionately and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the public.

    Experience

    • Experience with Clery Act compliance preferred.
    • Prior customer service experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience handling confidential information and sensitive situations.
    • Familiarity with database systems, access control systems, or security-related software is beneficial.
    • Administrative experience in public safety, higher education, law enforcement, security, or a related field preferred.

    Office Tools & Equipment Used

    • Software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher), CCTV monitoring software, access control systems, and ID card management systems.
    • Equipment: Two-way radio system, dispatch and report-writing software, business phone system, electronic access doors, alarm systems, and standard office equipment.
