Compensation

$310,000 – $390,000+

A premier global law firm is seeking a Public Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney to join its New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing public companies, boards of directors, special committees, private equity sponsors, and strategic acquirers in sophisticated domestic and cross-border public company transactions.

Ideal Background

3–6 years of public company M&A and corporate transactional experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing public companies, boards of directors, special committees, strategic buyers, and financial advisors in complex mergers and acquisitions

• Experience handling public company acquisitions, mergers, tender offers, carve-outs, divestitures, and other strategic corporate transactions on both the buy-side and sell-side

• Experience advising clients on federal securities laws, SEC reporting obligations, corporate governance matters, disclosure requirements, and stock exchange rules

• Experience drafting and negotiating merger agreements, purchase agreements, confidentiality agreements, disclosure schedules, proxy statements, transaction documents, and related corporate governance materials

• Experience conducting legal due diligence, managing transaction workstreams, coordinating closings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary deal teams

• Experience representing clients in the technology, life sciences, financial services, or real estate industries is a plus

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage substantial portions of sophisticated transactions while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
