This Public Information Representative (PIR I) temporary position is key support staff for the Office of Civic Engagement's Education Outreach Program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
" Present programming such as lessons, tours, and assemblies in classroom, outdoor, and virtual settings.
" Prepare, organize, and maintain teaching materials.
" Provide administrative and operational assistance when needed within the Office of Civic Engagement.
" Support the creation of educational curriculum and newsletters.
" Strong written and verbal skills, with directly relatable experience in conveying direction/ instructions to various audiences.
" Strong presentation abilities, including skills related to engaging diverse youth audiences.
" Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
" Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in education, public relations, communications, or a related field.
" One (1) year of experience in education, outreach activities, community relations, or public relations.
" Experience working with youth in grades K-12 highly desired, including collaboration with school staff such as teachers, office staff, and administrators. REQURIES NEGATIVE TB TEST & LIVE SCAN.
Ability to pass Background, Drug Screen and if applicable Medical Screenings (i.e. Vision, Hearing, or Physical) if Required by Client.
