Job Summary The Public Health Registered Nurse concentrates on the care of individual TB patients and the broader impact of TB on individuals, families, and communities. The TB Nurse Case Manager participates in direct and indirect interventions to treat TB disease and reduce transmission within the community. TB-related duties are carried out using a case management framework that integrates assessment and analytical skills, program planning, education and communication, cultural humility, community engagement, public health science competencies, and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree and a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona. An active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is acceptable, as well.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with direct patient care, medication administration, and specimen collection (blood, sputum, or bodily fluids).
Experience with physical examinations, gathering medical & social histories, problem identification, and care plan development.
Experience working with providers, and/or multidisciplinary teams in the provision of patient care.
Experience with case management and discharge planning.
Experience with electronic health record management system(s), and data management.
Selection Procedure
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Licenses and Certificates
Possession of either a current Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) or a license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Arizona.
Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services' review and approval of the candidate's driving record.
Special Notice Items
The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County. Department of Labor regulation CFR Part 1910.1030 requires notification that this category may have a high risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens. Hepatitis B vaccine will be provided. Some positions within this classification may require a current Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) Clearance Card in order to work with vulnerable adults and children at the time of application. The DPS Clearance Card may be required as a condition of continued employment. In positions requiring a DPS Clearance Card, failure to maintain a current DPS Clearance Card shall be grounds for termination.
Physical/Sensory Work Requirements
Frequently operations a computer and other office equipment in a clinic and office setting. Constantly observes details at close range. Frequently moves about inside an office and/or clinic setting. Frequently participates in external events within the community, including mobile sites and home care visits. May occasionally sit on the floor or crouch if working in a home care environment.
Working Conditions
The Public Health Registered Nurse operates within a clinic, office and/or community setting, providing direct patient care, education, and other administrative duties. Regular, daily attendance is an essential function for this position, however, is eligible for alternative work schedules if deemed appropriate by the division leadership and program/clinic scheduling needs.
