Maintain the highest level of cleanliness and efficiency in the hotel’s laundry facility. Process, sort, wash, dry, fold, and store all linens and uniform items according to Beauport Hotel standards. Support the housekeeping team by ensuring ongoing supply of clean linens for guest rooms and public areas.
This is a seasonal full-time position requiring work on holidays and weekends.
The schedule for the role is 10am-4pm
Essential Functions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry room at all times
• Sort and separate used linens by fabric type, color, and soil level
• Inspect incoming linens for damage—segregate torn items for repair or conversion to rags
• Pre-treat stains using appropriate chemicals and methods as specified by SDS guidelines
• Load washing machines and dryers, selecting appropriate cycles, temperatures, and detergents
• Unload machines, separate by item type, and ensure all loads are thoroughly cleaned and dried
• Fold sheets, pillowcases, towels, table linens, and other articles uniformly and neatly
• Organize and stock folded linens in designated storage areas for easy retrieval
• Communicate linen shortages to the Housekeeping Supervisor
• Adhere to all safety and chemical-handling procedures, including use of personal protective equipment
• Follow hotel policies on attendance, uniform, and professional appearance
• Assist housekeepers during peak periods or when special projects require additional support
• Communicate equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs promptly to Maintenance and Supervisory staff
• Demonstrate teamwork by coordinating with housekeeping and front-desk staff to meet linen demands
• Participate in cross-training opportunities to support other areas of the housekeeping department as needed
