Job Description
Title: PT Nurse Assistant (10 month)
The district is seeking an individual to serve as one of two School Health Office Nurse Assistants supporting the school nurse while school is in session.
Position Purpose:
- Provides support to the School Nurse by providing health services to student, faculty and staff, and by communicating with parents/guardians under the direction of the School Nurse.
Responsibilities:
- Cover the health office when a nurse is not present.
- Records absences and follow-up with parents/guardians as needed.
- Administers first aid to students and staff as needed.
- Assists with the assessment of illnesses, diseases, injuries and health screenings of students and staff.
- Assists with the maintenance of health records and daily log of health office visits.
- Utilizes the Student Information System to document student information.
- Communicates with parents/guardians regarding student health issues as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal or School Nurse.
License or Certificate:
- Registered professional nurse, designated as R.N. as defined and determined by state law, and currently licensed in the state.
- Current certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Compensation:
- The individual will work approximately 13 hours per week with compensation of $30 per hour.
