This is an exciting opportunity to join adynamic scientist-practitioner ClinicalPsychology training program in the School of Psychology including an APA-accrediteddoctoral training program and an undergraduate psychology major. The ClinicalPsychology program emphasizes research mentorship and training inevidence-based practices. We offer training concentrations in child and adultclinical psychology. Research and applied interests are open weare interested in considering applicants who can contribute to either adult orchild concentrations. Our faculty have established records of scholarship inneurodevelopmental disorders clinical health psychology alcohol and otherdrug use mental health disparities trauma and adversity neuropsychologicalassessment measurement development and childadolescent externalizingbehavior. Doctoral students provide psychological services through the Center forBehavioral Health CBH which is an integrated in-house training clinic staffed by students andfaculty from the School Counseling and Clinical Psychology training programs.The CBH serves all clientele from the community including assessment andtreatment and allows for close supervision of student clinicians by programfaculty. Student clinicians also receive supervised experience servingcommunity clients in a range of external practicum placements e.g. acuteinpatient unit VA hospitals medical centers serious mental illness specialtyprogram juvenile justice child advocacy center schools private practice.We hope to recruit applicants interested in providing clinical supervision ofpracticum students in our in-house training clinic as well as mentoringgraduate student research. Though Mississippi does not require postdoctoralhours opportunities for peer supervision during the licensure processincluding mentorship professional development are available from licensedfaculty. Additional research mentoring provides support through the tenure andpromotion process. Visa support for international applicants is not available. TheClinical Psychology program is one of four doctoral programs in the School of Psychology.
