Three 8-hr shifts; Tues, Thurs, and Sat on week one and then Sun, Tues, and Thurs on week two

Summary:

To provide care to patients with behavioral and substance disorders as it relates to recreational and occupational therapy.

Responsibilities:

1. CARE DELIVERY/THERPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS Criteria A: Provides patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse within scope of practice. CARE DELIVERY/THERPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS Criteria B: Plans and directs recreation therapy groups and activities for psychiatric and addiction patients CARE DELIVERY/THERPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS Criteria C: Meets with patients individually to assess and make recommendations to treatment team regarding patient issues. CARE DELIVERY/THERPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS Criteria D: Recognizes and reports issues related to patient safety, including homicidal and suicidal behavior, as well as symptoms of escalating behavior.
2. Patient/Family Education Criteria A: Assesses the learning needs as it pertains to issues of occupational/recreational therapy of patient/family, significant others. Patient/Family Education Criteria B: Plans and provides appropriate instruction as it relates to leisure activities, relaxation therapy, distraction techniques, and alternate, effective, coping skills Patient/Family Education Criteria C: Documents education given as well as patient's response

3. Professional and Personal Responsibilities Criteria A: Provides at least one in-service to the staff as it relates to the role of recreational therapy and patient care. Professional and Personal Responsibilities Criteria B: Attends at least 2 in-services as it relates to patient care issues and psychiatry. Professional and Personal Responsibilities Criteria C: Maintains Educational Record

4. Performs other duties as assigned.

5. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Education: ASSOCIATE'S LVL DGRE
