Job Details

We are hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / PMHNP to provide psychiatric consultations and patient visits in a hospital-based setting in West Hartford, CT.

This role is ideal for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric APRN, PMHNP-BC, or Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner who enjoys consult-based psychiatry, medication management, and working closely with interdisciplinary hospital teams.

Responsibilities include:

Provide psychiatric evaluations and behavioral health consultations
Complete hospital-based psychiatric consults and follow-up visits
Assess adult and/or geriatric patients with behavioral health needs
Manage psychiatric medications and treatment recommendations
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and care teams
Support crisis intervention, treatment planning, and care coordination
Document visits, assessments, and clinical recommendations in the EMR
Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care

Qualifications:

Active Connecticut APRN license
PMHNP certification strongly preferred
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner experience
Hospital, inpatient, consult-liaison, adult psychiatry, or geriatric psychiatry experience preferred
Strong medication management and psychiatric assessment skills
DEA and controlled substance prescribing ability preferred
Comfortable working in a hospital-based interdisciplinary setting
