About the Clinician‘s WorkdayThe psychiatric nurse practitioner will provide independent psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing medication management under Medical Director collaboration during full-time day shifts. Clinical responsibilities include ordering, interpreting, and acting on diagnostic studies such as labs, imaging, EKGs, and EEGs to support clinical decision-making for adult patients requiring inpatient psychiatric care. The clinician will prescribe medications and controlled substances in compliance with Indiana DEA/CSR requirements and facility protocols while participating in interdisciplinary treatment teams, admissions, discharge planning, and ongoing patient care coordination. Additional duties include responding to acute clinical situations, including emergency interventions and restraint assessments as needed, while maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation.
