We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Psychiatry to join our multidisciplinary team.
 
Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to patients. The NP will collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with psychiatric disorders. This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive and team-oriented environment dedicated to patient-centered care.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Monday to Friday (8:00 am – 4:00 pm or 9:00 am – 5:00 pm) with possible on-call duties
  • Utilize evidence-based approaches to treat conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other psychiatric concerns
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and best practices within the organization
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and physical examinations for patients
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring appropriate monitoring and adjustments as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services in an inpatient setting
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and community resources to support patient recovery and discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards in the EMR system (Credible)
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and staff development activities
  • Stay updated with current psychiatric best practices, research, and continuing education relevant to patients in mental health care.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatry/Mental Health.
  • Licensure: Active Nurse Practitioner license in Florida and board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP); DEA license preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in psychiatric care (inpatient experience preferred).
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
