Job Description
Position: PRSC Community Engagement Coordinator/Recovery Coach 
Program: Peer Recovery Support
Classification: Exempt - 40 hours per week
Compensation: $50,000 - $53,000
Reports to: PRSC Program Director 

Job Summary:
Working under the direction of the MV Recovery Support Center Program Director is responsible for conducting outreach to individuals in or seeking recovery in a variety of settings island-wide, targeting underserved populations. Facilitates community awareness, works with Volunteer Leaders to develop branding of the RSC, and is responsible for raising public awareness. Assists the Program Director in presentations to the community) with staff, members and volunteers, maintains a safe space for all those participating in the RSC, upholds the Code of Ethics and philosophy of the RSC.
 
Essential Functions: *Creates and implements a community outreach plan
  • Works with Volunteer Leaders to create presentations to businesses, service agencies, town_ boards, and other community service provider’s regarding1 the MVRSC services and community connection.     
  • Works with Volunteer Leaders to develop public education materials and displays for use at community events
  • Works with Volunteer Leaders to create brochures, flyers and other materials to promote Activities of the PRSC.
  • Oversees and implements public events, including open house informational sessions.
  • Works with Volunteer Leaders to create the PRSC newsletter.
  • Is a member of the MVCS Stakeholders Committee and the SUD Coalition
  • Works with staff, member and volunteers to ensure a variety of volunteer and leadership opportunities re available to promote engagement and connection with the PRSC. ·
  • Meets regularly with PRSC Program Director
  • Responsible for Red House Monthly Calendar design and distribution
  • Attends trainings and other professional development opportunities as required.
  • Meets regularly with members of the recovery community to track trends and to respond to changing needs of the community.
  • Adheres to all agency policies.
  • Provides coaching to Volunteer Leaders.
  • Maintains positive relationships with staff, members, volunteers, families, funders, the SUD Coalition and the recovery community.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Lived experience in recovery from substance addiction or co-occurring disorder
  • Knowledge and experience in working collaboratively with the Island Community
  • Comprehensive understanding of substance use disorder, addiction and recovery
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles and physical abilities
  • A current working knowledge of the Vineyard community organizations and providers
  • Experience I implementing effective outreach strategies
  • Recovery Coach Training and Ethical Considerations completed
  • Experience in marketing
  • Experience in facilitating public presentations
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of community partners
  • Must possess leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Familiar with a variety of computer systems incl Excel, Word, Power Point and marketing tools like Canva
  • Ability to pass a background check including CORI and fingerprinting at hire and then annually
  • Strong interpersonal boundaries
  • Non-judgmental attitude
  • High school diploma required
  • Available to work nights and weekends
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable independent insured transportation required
