SUMMARY

Responsible for coordinating point of service laboratory testing, including procedural oversight, employee training and equipment maintenance in physician practices, non-hospital clinics, or occupational sites. Provides consulting and liaison services to clients of the laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides coordination and support for regulatory compliance activities.

• Maintains or provides support for the quality control/proficiency testing program in accordance with regulatory agencies' guidelines.

• Ensures that all tests are performed in accordance with standards established by Laboratory Director and applicable regulatory agencies.

• Effectively coordinates and monitors the POL Lab Quality Assurance Program.

• Provides support and consultation in daily operations for POL Lab testing programs.

• Serves as liaison between laboratory coordinators and managers for clinical follow-up with clients.

• Coordinates client in-services as needed.

• Communicates updates and client changes to appropriate staff.

• Ensures that POS Lab testing personnel training and competency records are within regulatory guidelines.

• Maintains current knowledge of laboratory science and actively participates in personal continuing education.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, MT (ASCP) with a minimum of 2 years Clinical lab experience required.
