Data Entry Specialist

Location: Sacramento, CA

Schedule: Full-time (Onsite)

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to support a healthcare organization by maintaining accurate member records, processing transactions, and assisting with member-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Data Entry & Record Management

  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain member data, claims information, and documentation in internal systems

  • Verify and audit data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards

  • Maintain organized records of member interactions, appeals, grievances, and case documentation

  • Identify discrepancies and work with internal teams to resolve data issues

  • Respond to member inquiries via phone, email, chat, and fax, providing basic information and routing as appropriate

  • Provide in-person assistance to walk-in members when needed

  • Assist members, providers, brokers, and partners with claims and billing-related inquiries

  • Support urgent or sensitive cases, including those related to access to care or escalations

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely resolution of member issues

  • Support Member Service Representatives by entering and updating case details, documentation, and follow-ups

  • Assist with training support and shadowing activities for new team members

  • Participate in system updates, testing, and process improvements

  • Accurately document appeals and grievances in accordance with departmental protocols

  • Report system issues, data inconsistencies, or emerging trends to leadership

  • Educate members on available programs, tools, and resources (as needed)

  • Perform special projects and additional administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of data entry, administrative, or healthcare support experience

  • Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry tasks

  • Experience working with sensitive or confidential information

  • Basic knowledge of healthcare plans, claims, or insurance processes is a plus

  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle high-volume tasks

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems

Pay Details: $20.00 to $21.00 per hour
