Responsibilities

• Oversees engineers performing diagnostics, monitoring, and inspecting equipment and reviewing grid technologies • Builds relationships to facilitate cross-functional knowledge transfer of related work groups • Leads the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders • Collaborates and leads with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development, integration, and implementation of future technologies and asset performance management strategies • Assists in a variety of engineering and business initiatives and grid strategies, including the development of innovative procedures and design recommendations • Provides support for new equipment installation and startup, then leads the handover processes to the ramp and sustaining phases • Leads junior engineers in the investigation of threats on the distribution system infrastructure based on observations and findings • Gathers and correlates basic data using engineering studies and procedures, which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems • Facilitates training and professional development opportunities for engineering team members to enhance their skills and knowledge

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a scientific, technical, or math field • Seven or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments • Possess a valid Class C Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field • Working knowledge in developing distribution, subtransmission, and/or transmission protection settings • Licensed Professional Engineer • Experience with advanced protection schemes, such as Open Phase Detection, High Impedance Fault Detection, Process Bus IEC 61850 Applications • Experience in developing and/or maintaining Utility Design and Construction Standards

Additional Information

This positions work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
