Overview We are hiring a Protection and Control Engineer in LaBella's Program Management Services Division at our client's office in Rochester, NY. The division provides management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs, with teams offering a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services.Responsibilities Act as an independent advocate for the client in all aspects of project development, execution, and completion in protection, control, and metering.Provide support to clients in protection and control aspects of various engineering design packages.Review and evaluate engineering documentation to ensure alignment with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.Thoroughly review protection and control system design documents (single-line diagrams, relay protection schemes, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and associated documentation) prepared by detailed engineering firms.Lead protection and control discipline from tender through project execution to contract closure; coordinate with program stakeholders and client engineering disciplines related to protection, SCADA, and communications.Represent the project team in technical and project meetings; monitor design modification proposals and assess their suitability for the project; review non-conformities and evaluate corrective actions.Inspect commissioning of protection and control systems and equipment; review and approve root cause failure analyses and related corrective actions; provide responses to protection and control inquiries.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering5 years of protection and controls experience in the power industryExperience in design, management, and commissioning of protection and control systems for distribution and distribution automation projectsExperience with Distributed Energy Resource management processes and regulationsExperience with Quality Management System standards (e.g., ISO-9001)Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and WordExcellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesCandidates with a Maine PE license or ability to obtain one within one year will be given preferenceSalary and Benefits Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr – $120,000.00/yr. Salary offered may be influenced by experience, education, and work location.
