POSITION SUMMARY: To provide students with foundational knowledge and skills that support careers and/or post-secondary opportunities in hospitality, culinary arts, and customer service-focused industries.

OTHER DUTIES: Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor limit duties that might reasonably be assigned. Performs related work as required or assigned by assigned Principal. This position requires the monitoring of work-based learning placements in the community setting and may require the instructor to travel to locations to observe students or work with employers in support of work-based learning placements. As some work-based learning may occur outside of the regular contract day, this position is subject to flexible work hours.
PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CONDITIONS/DEMANDS: Position requires significant periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Duties are performed in a classroom and laboratory/shop environment that simulates a commercial kitchen. May include the operation of tools and equipment, lifting and carrying materials of up to 30lbs, and performing duties related to regular upkeep (cleanliness and sanitation) of a commercial kitchen environment such as cleaning of kitchen equipment and areas as would be required as part of regular health department codes and expectations.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten (10) month position and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the current Calvert County Public Schools' salary schedule. All employees are encouraged to have automatic payroll deposit.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.

References must be directly related to educational experience and must include immediate supervisor.
State law requires that anyone hired after October 1, 1986, who will have contact with school children, must be fingerprinted and submit to a criminal background investigation. Federal law requires that a new employee must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) in person before beginning employment. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. Current employees of the Calvert County Public Schools are exempt from these requirements.
