Our Client, an EV Manufacturing company, is looking for a Propulsion Systems Engineer for their Tustin, CA/Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct propulsion system simulations for battery packs, including discharge, durability, and charging behavior analysis.
  • Track simulation results and identify next-step actions to inform testing and design decisions.
  • Profile and manage simulation workload, ensuring smooth handover to future permanent hires for ongoing programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results with engineering analysis, validation, and design activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of simulation parameters, results, and recommended actions.
  • Support continuous improvement of simulation workflows and modeling accuracy.
  • Ensure simulations adhere to project timelines and engineering standards.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in battery, EV propulsion, or energy storage system simulation.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools relevant to battery performance, durability, and charging (MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data to inform engineering decisions.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with battery pack modeling or similar EV propulsion systems.
  • Familiarity with multi-program simulation coordination and workload management.
  • Knowledge of battery cell, module, and pack electrical/thermal behavior.
  • Experience in developing workflows for DCFC, discharge profiling, or durability simulations.
  • Ability to support handover and knowledge transfer to new team members or permanent hires.
