Schedule/Hours: 40 hours/week
Plans, develops, administers, leads and supervises the Sarasota County Area Command Property Department; Participates in the strategic planning and evaluation of these operations; contracts to procure the best price and product for the command; Provides oversight of facility projects, both renovations and new construction, to support The Salvation Army's Property Department from conceptual stage through planning and construction; provides updates and documents to Property Department TSAMM items directly or to direct supervisor; tracks and updates project progress and costs in electronic and physical files.

- Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of subordinate maintenance personnel; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations and provides salary and hiring/firing recommendations.
- Participates in strategic planning for all Area Command property, equipment, fleet and inventory; directs plans for repairs, upgrades purchases and renovations; monitors the progress of those plans and updates as needed.
- Works with Area Commander, Director of Operations, finance department and others as needed to create strategic plans for all Area Command equipment and vehicles; creates a life cycle plan for the regular replacement of items to avoid emergency breakdowns and failures.
- Supervises all construction and renovation projects for all Area Command properties; meets with the department head and drafts design of projects; prepares cost estimates; and obtains needed approvals.
- Maintains security for Area Command properties; serves on call 24 hours a day for alarm alerts for officers and/or staff when absent at time of emergency; meets first responders and inspects properties for possible infractions.
- Supervises the maintenance and security of Salvation Army fleet of vehicles; ensures proper preventative maintenance and repairs at reasonable costs; updates online tools for reservation and tracking of vehicle assets.
- Responsible for ensuring that all facility grounds and exteriors are kept up and not an eyesore to the neighbors.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
- Ability to exert mental/visual effort required for sustained periods of concentrations, working under pressure of deadlines and continual interruptions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Two years course work from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation, and air condition, plumbing, electrical, and construction trades, and
seven years progressively responsible experience performing skilled maintenance and repair work for commercial buildings and grounds with at least two years in a supervisory capacity, or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid driver's license
Project Manager certification preferred, not required.
