The Property Management Assistant at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is an important member of the team, providing administrative and operational support that helps ensure the effective management of agency properties and contributes to improved living conditions for residents. This role supports day-to-day operations across multiple property sites and helps maintain clear communication among residents, management staff, and external vendors.
Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering telephone inquiries, collecting and processing rent payments, and accurately entering financial transactions into Yardi Voyager. The position also assists with scheduling and coordinating annual and interim tenant recertifications, obtaining required documentation, and maintaining accurate, confidential resident files. Additional duties include conducting periodic property inspections to ensure compliance with housing standards and assisting the Property Manager in addressing resident questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
The role also involves preparing move-in documentation, distributing notices and communications, and working with maintenance vendors to help coordinate property-related needs. Reporting to the Property Management Specialist, this position offers the opportunity to support affordable housing programs while developing strong administrative, technical, and interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment.
